I agree with most of your points, but I'm curious as to whether you're a university professor (or have ever been one), or if you at least have a degree in a field of theology?

Your bio here doesn't list anything, which is ok if you don't even have a degree in the field. As someone who has spent quite a bit of time on a university campus, I know that they are infested with fools and liars, and what matters is who can back up what they say, not how long their C.V. is.

Thanks.

Yup. I'd read that, but I

Yup. I'd read that, but I was wondering if he has a degree in theology, history, etc.

Like I said before, it doesn't matter much because universities are rife with fraudsters, but there's a little something to be said for getting a degree in theology... mostly that you get to experience first-hand exactly what they're pushing into the heads of the students.

No degree whatsoever.  I've

No degree whatsoever.

I've never even taken a formal philosophy or comparitive religion class while I was in school.  I was raised in an agnostic house, isolated as much from religion as might be possible in red state America (although Louisville is kind of an oasis of blue).  My fields of study have been music, business and dental technology.

My current professional involvement in the realm of theology is the unpaid position as one of three co-organizers of the Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers.  This follows my equally volunteer position as the media representative of another national freethought movement.

My total theological qualifications are that I've read the Bible as well as a number of other books on the subject, both skeptical and apologetic.  [Trumpets: Ta da].

There is some strength to this background.  I've approached Christianity from an outsider's perspective (as much as one can be having grown up in America) and this enables me to analyze the worldview without the emotional bias that comes from indoctrination.

That said, my CV is non-existent.  My arguments must rise or fall purely on their own merit.
